We at Anna University, celebrated our Independence Day – bursting with patriotism, filled with Pride. Firstly, the Vice-Chancellor honoured our very own statue of Perarignar Anna with garlands and roses, in the presence of the Deans and the Head of the Departments’.Then the VC acknowledged the cadets of NCC - Army and Navy as well as the active members of YRC, NSS, and NSO.Following it was the moment of pride - the FLAG HOISTING by the VC after which he addressed the gathering.
The NCC cadets paid their respects through their ceremonial parade. Next came the cultural events performed by the students of CEG, AC Tech, SAP, and MIT. India’s biggest achievements had been beautifully depicted in a skit performed by the AC Tech students. A patriotic song sung by a CEGian rekindled the feel of patriotism in us. Following it was a classical performance by a SAP student. Finally, dancers from CEG refreshed the gathering with their group performance.
Students who had secured a 10 G.P.A in academics along with the best volunteers of YRC, NSO, NSS, and NCC were awarded with a gold medal. The event ended with a photo session.
