The most anticipated day in the calendars of the industrial engineering students had finally come. INDCON'18, the inter-college technical symposium of the Department of Industrial Engineering was inaugurated on March 1, 2018, at the Optimus Hall. The inauguration was graced by the presence of Dr. Raju, Head of Industrial Engineering, Mr. K. Venugopal, Vice President of Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS), Dr. Ramesh Babu, Associate Professor at the Industrial Engineering Department and Mr. Jayasurya, General Secretary of the Society of Industrial Engineers.

The Head, Dr. Raju, addressed the gathering with a lively speech which was vivacious and vibrant in his commanding tone. Then, Mr. K. Venugopal took over the dais and stressed on the necessity of industrial engineering and the way the course has gained gravity after years of evolution. He briefed about his past which was quite impressive and pressed on about the necessity of optimization which can be obtained as a result of innovation and creativity.
 

The second day began with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm. Save the Egg- a brand new event for witty minds received a stunning response from the participants. The one day workshop at the Hyundai plant in Sriperumbudur was remarkable and got positive reviews from the participants. The guest lecture by Mr. Peter Van Geit, the founder of Chennai Trekking Club also had a great response from the audience and was highly appreciated.

Indcon'18 successfully came to an end with the valedictory ceremony on March 3, 2018. The prizes were distributed to the winners of the various events. The closing ceremony also witnessed the foundation of a promising INDCON’19 next year
