26th August 2015 was a normal day to common people but to everyone with the Anna University tag, it was a long awaited day, especially for the newly tagged ones. The college was completely in a festive mood and everyone was waiting for the clock to strike 3pm so that they could witness the main events for the day.

The show started precisely on time and the lights and sounds were fixed perfectly to enhance the cheer. The gallery was packed with the freshers and they were ready for another awesome evening .The official inauguration of the Students Association and Freshers day came together and created an impact that we have never seen before. Chill atmosphere, scenic view and adorable music by the students started the event in a pleasant way. The stage was soon filled with quite a few handsome people. To start it all, the chief guest of the day R.Sarathkumar was full of charisma and the Guest of honor Dr.C.R.Sasi along with Dean Dr.P.Narayanaswamy, Alumni Association president B.Karunakaran, Additional Director Dr.Chella Durai, Student Advisors- Dr.S.Swaminathan and Dr.Pradeep Kumar and the Students Association committee graced the stage. The Students Association members were officially initiated by the chief guest R.Sarathkumar and the plan of action was elaborated. Each dignitary spoke a few words about our esteemed institution.
R.Sarathkumar addressed the students sharing his own 
experiences as a student and also gave insightful words which plunged right into our hearts. Soon he was up for an interactive session with the students and answered everyone with patience, he also offered to answer them in person and was ready to train one of our fellow mates which proved that the standing ovation he received was totally worth it!
The second half of the evening was filled with a variety of shows presented by the various clubs from our college. The sizzling dance performance from Akarithi, the Spartans outstanding humor mantra and the stage breaking piece from the Twisters were all greatly enjoyed and the freshers were full of zeal. The day saw a perfect end with the screening of the block-buster hit movie “Maari”.
The Guindy Times personally welcomes each and every fresher and encourages them to have a wonderful time in Anna University while also wishing the Students Association all success in their future endeavours.
