Daniel Gerhard Brown, famously known as Dan Brown is the author of bestsellers like the Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, etc. Human history has always been influenced and tainted by the war between two conflicting ideologies - Science and Religion. People from all walks of life usually take either of these sides and devote their time to disproving the other. Dan Brown, however, writes stories that lurk in the grey region between these extremes while remarkably standing true to the reality of the modern world. Living in the world of technological advancements, we practice religion as a virtue and simultaneously benefit from the lifelong works of science. The amount of work that goes into his books is enormous, and that is why they speak for themselves. Each one of his books divulge into the unimaginable and the untold story of the aforementioned war, and is written in such a way that it touches our lives when we least expect it.
For example, Da Vinci code speaks of The Priory of Sion and Knights Templar, Deception Point sheds light on theory of Panspermia whereas Angels and Demons tells us about The Illuminati. The cover page of many fictional novels carries the line “All the places, characters and organisations mentioned in the book are works of fiction”. But this is not the case here. The places visited by the characters in his book and the organisations they speak about are real. Five out of his seven novels revolve around the symbology Professor Robert Langdon. He has also written 3 standalone books including one illustrated book for children.
His books are a uniquely perfect blend of history, art, religion, science and fiction. This combination of these genres may seem as immiscible as water and oil, but in the hands of a genius like Dan Brown, they simply make perfect sense. His novels exemplify the phrase “page turners” by presenting these genres in a thrilling, fast-paced manner, compelling you to complete it in one-sitting. In his latest book “Origin”, he brings out an A.I as a character. This outstanding move makes sense of the new world which is rising. The villains of his story are so well written that they evolve into more than just an evil people with a motive to destroy the world. They are transformed into human beings with their own sense of morality.
To conclude, Dan Brown’s books are like the ships that help you set sail into the vast ocean of knowledge. I do not want to hold you back any more from grabbing your first Dan Brown book.
