Remember the saying 'Old is Gold'? Well, it’s true! Even though we’ve developed in many ways, there’s still a part of us that hasn’t changed. Our parents follow exactly what our grandparents taught them, and we, in turn, seek guidance and opinions from our parents. Like this, one timeless lesson they’ve imparted is that family is the key to happiness, and as humans, we need each other.
On social media, we often come across videos and reels like 'The Art of Living Alone' or 'Things You Get to Do When Living' ,which promote the idea that living alone is fun. And yes, at the end of our youth, we’ll have beautiful memories that we cherish. But it’s even better when we have someone to share those memories with. For instance, college life is something people remember for the rest of their lives. It’s a significant stage because it's where we meet people with different dreams and perspectives on life.
I remember my first day of college. I was the quintessential straight-A student, coming from a group of school friends who were equally focused on studies. Yes, I was labeled a nerd, and not just me—my entire class, as we were considered the top students by our school teachers. I thought I’d remain the same throughout college, but to my surprise, that wasn’t the case. In college, you meet the true gems of your life—real friends who help you discover yourself. I experienced a lot of ups and downs, but throughout my journey, my friends held my hand and stood by me. By the end of college, you realize that we all need someone—whether it’s friends, family, or even just ourselves. I learned not to lose myself while trying to find myself.
Throughout life, we are always accompanied by someone. Initially, it’s our parents who teach us about life. Then, it’s our friends who help us discover our dreams, and eventually, it’s our partner who helps us to find the purpose of our life. So, let’s enjoy and embrace the joy of togetherness and appreciate the beauty and adventure it brings.
