Book release : 'Get Your First Job: A Guide by Mr A J Balasubramanian'

As college students, we're all anxious about the (anxiety-inducing) next step after graduation. For many of us, this involves getting our first job. Stepping out into the real world is a challenge for us all, and we could use all the help we can get in those first steps. With this aim, CEG alumnus and Techruit co-founder Mr. A J Balasubramnian penned his book, "Get Your First Job", which was released at the CEG Alumni Association Hall.

The evening opened with an address by the author himself, who talked of his passion in writing the book, and how he hoped to inspire students and future employees to navigate the competitive job market. Using various mnemonics and catch-phrases, Mr Balasubramanian said he wanted the process to be simplified so readers would have an edge in their job-hunt. This vision was commended by the various dignitaries present at the event, including the Preisdent of the AACEG, Mr Karunakaran, as well as Dr T. Thyagarajan, Director, CUIC in their respective speeches.

The subsequent official launch of the book was applauded vociferously by the audience, comprised of a mix of past and present students of CEG, as well as friends and family of Mr Subramanian. Rounding out the evening was the address by the Chief Guest, Dr. J. Sadakkadulla, Regional Director, RBI(TN & Pondy). As the writer of the book's foreword, he remarked on how well-researched and thought-provoking he found it, and that he hoped it would be an important tool in the hands of its target readership.

The event drew to a close with the Vote of Thanks by Mr. P R Madhan, the author's colleague and co-founder of Techruit Technologies, who echoed the audience in awe of the brilliant panel, and thanked them for their time.

The attendees thus left the hall with a distinct impression of the efforts made by Mr. A J Balasubramanian and his ilk in helping students accomplish their career goals with their experience, and in the effort put in to ensure we aren't left in the dark to fend for ourselves.
