Dear Dhanya,
I know there were times when you had thought “How am I ever going to get past this?” Well, let me take you down the memory lane and remind you of the time when you had to leave your passion behind, but your determination and perseverance remained strong.
After completing your 10th standard, your family moved to Coimbatore from Pune. You faced the pressure of adjusting to a new city, to the faces of new people, while also preparing for your 12th exams. Confused and unsure of your future, you decided to dip your legs into everything. Whether it was NEET, JEE, NATA, or SAT, there wasn’t a single exam you didn’t consider taking!
This meant that you had to leave behind the two things you found dear - dance and music. Having been involved in these art forms for more than a decade, you realized it was nearly impossible to balance them with your academic workload. This led to the taking of one of the most important decisions of your life: a break from your hobbies for a while. Would that mean you would never return to dance and music class again? Would you never practice these art forms again? Would you never get a chance to perform?
While these thoughts hovered over your head like the dark clouds on a rainy day, deep down there was a glimmer of hope that made you believe. “We’ll see as time passes. After all, everything happens for a reason.” Fear was always consuming you, but you chose to stay calm and optimistic.
Two years passed and you finished all your exams. Unfortunately, the results didn’t meet your expectations. Guilt slowly crept in. You started questioning your decision, and began feeling the ick of being left in the middle of nowhere, with everything gone in vain. It was tough, still you had remained resilient.
You started to shift your focus back to music and dance. You started practising yoga daily, building up your stamina. In no time, you were able to bring your body back to form where you could attend classes. And within a few months you even got an opportunity to perform on stage!
Even though it might seem like a trivial matter to others, for you Dhanya, it was an achievement. Now you’re able to balance both your passions and academics, aiming to delve deeper into each. And that’s life, right? It’s moments of overcoming challenges like these that makes you feel stronger!
Love,
