Love's Imperfect Journey

Your little idiosyncrasies

Bloom the petals of love,

On my monochrome road.

All my life, I have been traveling

On the road not taken by others—

Bustle of orange skies,

Dry shades of leaves beneath my shoes,

The hymn of life sings as I walk.

One day, on a spring break,

You jumped out of the green bushes,

Your enchanting smile bringing color to my world!

My dry humor made you laugh,

Your life theories gave me life,

The road became home with you,

We were there for each other,

But was I perfect?

So I ran away,

Before you loved me more,

Because I wasn't your perfect.

I ran through the wild woods,

The road was long gone, and I stopped.

My mind was scattered, my heart ached,

My soul slipping through my hands,

When I realized it was you.

I couldn’t leave you.

I ran back to you,

And there you were, sitting on our road,

You jumped onto me as your eyes saw me.

You punched me with your little hand,

We cried as we whispered our love.

I said the truth:

"I'm not perfect, but I will try-"

You placed your hand on my mouth before I finished,

And with your eyes locked on mine, you said,

"I'm not perfect, and so you're. But we are perfect for each other,"

You were right, and you had me in life again.

As we walk on our road holding hands,

Life sparks and love sings,

We are perfect for each other —

A home where we found one another.
